If you are planning to enter Bryce Canyon from the west, you will pass right through it. Because Red Canyon is part of Dixie National Forest, rather than a national park or monument, there is no fee to enter the canyon.

Camping. King Creek Campground, above Tropic Reservoir, has graded gravel roads and sites nestled among tall ponderosa pines.

About 9 1/2 miles west of the park is Red Canyon Campground, named for its vermilion-colored rock formations. Fishing. The closest fishing hole to Bryce Canyon National Park is at Tropic Reservoir, in Dixie National Forest, which is a large lake in a ponderosa pine forest.
